We're looking for a practical, hands-on person to join our working at height safety team, working as part of a two-person site crew alongside a lead engineer to install and maintain permanent access and fall protection systems. Salary £26,000–£34,000 depending on experience.
This role is entry-level to the fall protection industry, no previous experience in working at height is required and full training will be provided. However, we'd expect some hands-on experience in a similar practical trade or role.
The Role
- Assist with installing, maintaining, and repairing fall restraint and fall arrest safety wire systems, fixed access ladders, handrails, gantries, and walkways
- Work alongside our BMU engineers, assisting with maintenance, repair, and testing of BMUs at client sites
- Learn and work to relevant safety standards
- Work on occupied commercial and industrial buildings, predominantly in and around the South and South East of England, with most work based in London and the M25 area – little to no new-build construction site work
- Local, home-every-night working – very little overnight stay away
- Support with inspection reports and job documentation
- Meet your lead engineer en route to job sites, travelling in a company vehicle
Requirements
- Ability to work at height
- Some experience in a hands-on trade, construction, or mechanical role (telecoms/roofing/window cleaning)
- Ability to follow and comply with strict safe working practices and job instructions
- Reliable
- Good communication skills
- Numerate and literate with good attention to detail
- Full clean manual driving licence
- Ability to work well as a team and under pressure
Desirable
- Experience within the Work at Height industry
- Experience in a similar role/industry
- Mechanical/electrical engineering experience
