We are looking for a proactive and enthusiastic QHSE Assistant to support our QHSE Manager in maintaining the highest standards of Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) compliance across our business.

The Role
As our QHSE Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation and maintenance of our Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental management systems. Working closely with operational teams, you will help ensure compliance with legislation, company procedures and industry best practice.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with health, safety and environmental compliance across multiple sites.
- Carrying out workplace inspections, audits and monitoring corrective actions.
- Supporting accident, incident and near-miss investigations.
- Assisting with statutory risk assessments and compliance documentation.
- Delivering health and safety inductions and maintaining training records.
- Carrying out routine quality control testing, including sieve testing and moisture content analysis.
- Maintaining accurate QHSE records, reports and databases.
- Promoting a positive safety culture throughout the organisation.
- Supporting environmental compliance and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
We're looking for someone who is organised, motivated and eager to develop.
Essential:
- IOSH Working Safely or Managing Safely qualification.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety principles.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Full UK driving licence with the ability to travel between company sites.
- Willingness to study towards a NEBOSH qualification if not already achieved.
Desirable:
- NEBOSH General Certificate.
- Experience within recycling, waste management, biomass, manufacturing or another industrial environment.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems.
- Experience carrying out inspections, audits or quality testing.
- Experience delivering inductions or training.

Pay: £24,420.00-£47,357.14 per year
