Clean & Maintain is a growing property services company providing cleaning, housekeeping, maintenance, and property support services across Cardiff and the surrounding areas.
We work with serviced accommodation providers, landlords, letting agents, and private clients to ensure properties are maintained to a high standard. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a reliable and practical Property Maintenance Operative to join our team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a broad range of maintenance skills who enjoys varied work and is looking to grow with an expanding business.
The Role
We are looking for a hands-on individual who can carry out a variety of property maintenance and repair tasks across our portfolio of serviced accommodation properties and client-managed properties.
You do not need to be a qualified tradesperson. However, you must be confident using tools, carrying out general repairs, identifying maintenance issues, and completing work to a professional standard.
The ideal candidate will be practical, proactive, and capable of working independently while maintaining excellent communication with the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out general property repairs and maintenance
- Responding to maintenance issues reported by guests, cleaners, and clients
- Assembling and repairing furniture
- Replacing door handles, locks, hinges, and other fixtures
- Completing basic painting and decorating tasks
- Re-sealing bathrooms, kitchens, and worktops with silicone where required
- Repairing minor damage to walls, fixtures, and fittings
- Replacing light fittings, bulbs, smoke alarm batteries, and other basic property items where appropriate
- Conducting property inspections and identifying maintenance concerns
- Assisting with property setup and improvement projects
- Reporting larger issues that require specialist contractors
- Maintaining company equipment and tools
- Supporting the wider operations team when required

- Has previous maintenance, handyman, construction, or property experience
- Is confident using a range of hand and power tools
- Has good problem-solving skills
- Can work independently and manage their workload
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Takes pride in completing jobs properly
- Is reliable, trustworthy, and punctual
- Communicates professionally with colleagues and clients
- Understands when a specialist contractor is required for certain works
Trade qualifications are beneficial but not essential.
Driving & Travel Requirements
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred.
Applicants without a vehicle may still be considered; however, you must be able to travel independently between properties and job locations while transporting any tools and equipment necessary to complete assigned tasks.
Additional opportunities and responsibilities may be available to team members who are able to travel between multiple locations throughout the day.
Hours & Contract
- Part-time position
- Zero-hour contract
- Flexible working hours

- Additional hours available during busy periods
Hours will vary depending on maintenance requests, projects, and business requirements.
