Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and presentation. This role requires strong leadership, exceptional culinary expertise, and the ability to manage a busy kitchen environment effectively. The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in maintaining our reputation for outstanding cuisine and excellent service.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs and kitchen staff, ensuring smooth daily operations
- Oversee food production processes, maintaining consistency and quality across all dishes
- Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends while catering to customer preferences
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene within the kitchen
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and control food costs to optimise efficiency
- Train and mentor staff to enhance their skills and promote a positive working environment
- Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery
- Monitor food presentation and ensure dishes are served at the highest standard
- Implement health and safety procedures to minimise risks within the kitchen environment
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen setting
- Extensive culinary experience with strong food preparation and cooking skills
- Excellent team management abilities, fostering collaboration and motivation among staff
- In-depth knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to organise and delegate effectively
- Experience in menu development, food production, and hospitality management
- Exceptional organisational skills with attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen operations
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and safety
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and front-of-house personnel
Pay: £26,000.00-£39,000.00 per year
