We are a large Day Nursery and Forest School , where children learn and explore, both indoors and outdoors.
We have a vacancy for an apprentice who wants to pursue a career in Childcare.
The successful applicant will be registered with Calderdale College to complete an ‘Advanced Apprenticeship Early Educator’ Level 2 or 3. The training will be delivered via the workplace with a tutor from college visiting you on a regular basis. In addition to this, you will have a workplace mentor who is available to support you throughout your training and subsequent employment.
During your training, you will have the opportunity to gain experience working with children aged 0-5 years. Many apprentices successfully complete their Level 3 training and then continue onto Higher Level Education training. You must hold Maths and English GCSE or equivelent (4 or above).
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging educational programmes (with support from qualified practitioners) tailored to the needs of children aged 0-5 years.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to build strong relationships and support children's learning.
- Manage daily activities, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all children.
- Observe and assess children's progress, providing feedback to parents and adapting activities as necessary (with support from qualified practitioners) .
- Participate in group activities that encourage social interaction, creativity, and exploration.
- Maintain accurate electronic records of children's development and attendance.
- Work in line with policies and procedures.
- Work as part of a team
- Following training, demonstrate excellent knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
The successful applicant will be part of a team working with children aged 0-5 years across the Nursery and Forest School. You will work 40 hours per week over 5 days, Monday – Friday. The current Apprentice wage is currently £8.00 per hour.
