Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated HGV Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to ensure optimal operational performance. Duties
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs, including engines, brakes, transmissions, and electrical systems.
- Diagnose faults using schematics and electrical testing tools; perform repairs or replacements as necessary.
- Fabricate or modify components using welding, soldering, and assembly techniques to meet specific repair requirements.
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out repairs efficiently and safely.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks to repair structural components of vehicles or equipment.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, inspections, and maintenance activities in accordance with company standards
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair status and recommendations.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in heavy vehicle repair and maintenance.
- Electrical experience including reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and troubleshooting electrical faults.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment for repairs and modifications.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during repairs.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex mechanical or electrical issues efficiently.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively whilst adhering to safety protocols.
- Strong customer service skills with a professional attitude when liaising with clients or team members.

Pay: £26,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
