Join our dynamic team as a HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing a diverse range of commercial vehicles. Duties
- Diagnose and repair a wide range of heavy goods vehicles using various diagnostic laptops.
- Carry out roadside assistance in one of our fully equipped mobile workshops.
- Conduct routine maintenance inspections and repairs.
- Perform fabrication, welding and assembly work to repair or modify vehicle components as needed.
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other specialized machinery to carry out repairs efficiently.
- Prepare vehicles for MOT ensuring compliance and safety regulations are met.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, parts used, and diagnostic findings for each vehicle.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a HGV mechanic or in a similar heavy vehicle repair role with a solid understanding of mechanical systems.
- Strong electrical experience with the ability to troubleshoot wiring issues effectively.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic testing devices.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
- Experience in roadside assistance and mobile maintenance
