Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Warehouse Charge Hand to drive operational excellence within our dynamic distribution environment. In this pivotal role, you will oversee daily warehouse activities, manage a team of warehouse associates, and ensure that inventory management, shipping, receiving, and process improvements are executed efficiently and safely. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of warehouse management, optimizing logistics workflows, and fostering a collaborative team culture that thrives on continuous improvement. Duties
- Lead and supervise warehouse staff, providing clear direction, coaching, and motivation to achieve operational goals
- Oversee inventory control processes, including stock accuracy, cycle counts, and reconciliation using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) such as AS400 or similar platforms
- Manage warehouse distribution activities to ensure timely shipping and receiving of goods, including heavy lifting and materials handling tasks
- Implement process improvements to streamline workflows, reduce errors, and enhance safety standards in compliance with OSHA regulations
- Coordinate logistics operations involving third-party logistics providers (3PL), e-commerce fulfillment centers, and internal departments
- Operate forklifts and other mechanical equipment safely while adhering to OSHA guidelines for materials handling
- Monitor inventory levels regularly to prevent shortages or overstocking, ensuring optimal inventory management practices are followed
Qualifications
- Proven experience in warehouse management or supervision within a fast-paced distribution environment
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (including AS400), warehouse management systems (WMS), and logistics operations
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively with excellent communication and team management skills
- Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse equipment such as forklifts and other materials handling machinery
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and best practices for heavy lifting and materials handling
- Experience with shipping & receiving processes, e-commerce fulfillment, and 3PL operations is highly desirable
- Ability to perform physical tasks including heavy lifting while maintaining safety protocols
