Working hours: Monday to Friday 9am-5pm
Job Purpose:
-
To work with the Clinic Operational and Assistant Manager, Team Leaders and clinical staff, to ensure effective management of the University of Southampton Auditory Implant Service (USAIS) patients through the Cochlear Implant (CI) and Bone Conduction Hearing Implant (BCHI) Referral and Assessment pathway
What you will do:
-
Act as a centralised point of contact for patients; triage, coordinate, and provide accurate and timely processing of patient and clinical correspondence

Manage complex appointment scheduling, maintain accurate patient records and monitor Referral to Treatment (RTT) times through the patient assessment pathway

Liaise with local Allied Health Professionals, ENT services, hospital staff and clinical radiology staff regarding patient referrals, appointments, admissions, assessments, scans and image reports
What you will bring:
-
Relevant work experience within an administrative or customer support role, preferably in a healthcare setting or clinical environment – including experience using a Patient Administration System (PAS) or equivalent

Strong communication skills are essential, with a proven ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload

Excellent attention to detail, record keeping skills and maintenance of confidentiality for all data and patient information.

Strong teamwork skills and the ability to build positive working relationships

Ability to thrive and support colleagues in a busy and interactive environment in a dedicated team
Special requirements:
-
The maintenance of confidentiality in information and data management is mandatory, as is the ability to cross-check data from multiple sources, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy

A DBS check at Standard level is required for this role; this will be carried out by the University
