Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated member of Cafe Staff to join our team on Mondays (Usually 9-2) and Tuesdays usually (10.30-2) potential to be slightly flexible for the right candidate. Potential for some more weekday hours if desired especially in our busiest time, the lead up to Christmas .The ideal candidate would also be available at least 2 weekend days a month between the hours of 8.30 - 3.30. The ideal candidate will also be required to work out with the cafe making and labelling our products on the same premises. We are a small family run business so we are looking for a positive and committed staff member to join us and help our business grow.
Someone able to do more hours for holiday/ sick cover is desired but not essential .Hours may vary slightly week to week . We are a small tight knit team so candidates need to be reliable and punctual with a good attitude to work. Due to the rotas already being out it may be a couple of weeks until the candidate is fully able to start but will get in for training before this if suits.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately.
- Prepare and serve food and beverages in accordance with food safety standards.
- Assist in food preparation including using a grill to heat up toasties and paninis as well as plating up cakes and traybakes , ensuring quality and presentation meet our cafe's standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the cafe area, including tables, counters, and equipment.
- Make a range of drinks including using the coffee machine (Training will be provided)
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
- Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly, ensuring satisfaction at all times.
- Handle cash and till transactions swiftly and accurately.
- Use your own initiative to look for jobs needing done.
Requirements
- Full Training will be provided so prior cafe experience isn't necessary but applicants must willing and eager to learn.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is desirable.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work well within a team environment and use your own initiative.
- A proactive attitude towards helping customers and colleagues alike.
- Ability to multitask effectively in a busy environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Pride and care in your work is essential.
- Must be able to accurately deal with cash transactions
- Must be able to write orders down clearly and correctly
