The Overview
Got a trade under your belt and a zero-tolerance policy for broken stuff? We’re looking for a sharp, hands-on Maintenance Manager to keep The 1852 Hotel running smoothly.
We’re all about ease, atmosphere, and cutting out the faff. Your job? Keep our rooms, bar, and public spaces looking great so the craic never stops.
You’ll handle day-to-day fixes independently, work with our General Manager to keep our eyes on the prize and occasionally help manage external sub-contractors when bigger refurbishments come around.
The Daily Gig
- Fixing & Fitting: Light joinery (doors, chairs, stud walls), basic plumbing (taps, unblocking traps), basic tiling, and re-grouting.
- Keeping It Fresh: High-standard painting and decorating, power washing, and outdoor upkeep.
- Simple Electrics: Like-for-like swaps for sockets, fuses, and light fixtures.
- Room Setup: Mounting TVs, mirrors, towel rails, and hotel fittings securely.
- Project Lead: Assist the GM in managing sub-contractors on-site for larger venue jobs (like full bedroom or bathroom refits).
- Tech-Led Tasks: Logging work and updating job sheets on your phone multiple times a day, plus ordering parts online fast and without drama.
- Team Leadership: Directing and supporting our second maintenance team member.
What You Bring
- A Proper Trade: Qualified Joiner, Electrician, or Plumber - non-negotiable.
- Experience: At least 1 year in maintenance management (bonus points if you know the hospitality world).
- Tech Skills: Completely comfortable using digital applications for fast task management and online ordering.
- The Mindset: Highly organised, quick to solve problems, and takes pride in a clean finish.
