Management Accountant
We are seeking a management accountant to join our finance team for The Manor and Ashbury Resorts. Our two resorts comprise one of the world's largest golf resorts, ranked as the 9th largest globally, alongside an extensive range of leisure, sports and craft facilities.
Following a recent change of ownership, the resorts are embarking on a significant refurbishment and investment programme designed to enhance the guest experience, strengthen operational performance and support ambitious future growth plans.
The resorts operate with a dedicated on-site finance team responsible for transactional processing, reconciliations, payroll processing, supplier payments, and day-to-day financial controls.
Key responsibilities of the role include
· Preparation of weekly/monthly management accounts and other ad hoc financial reports
· Complete accruals, prepayments, journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
· Manage the weekly supplier payments and bank reconciliations.
· Complete monthly payroll reconciliations.
· Assist in the Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
· Monitor cashflow, budgets and forecasts.
· Assist in the preparation of annual budgets for the business, reforecasting as required through the year to manage performance and planning
· Work with various resort departments to improve to operational and data collection.
· Assist with year-end accounts and statutory audits
LOCATION
The role is based on-site at the hotel properties in Okehampton, Devon where the wider team are also based.
WHAT YOU OFFER US
Must haves:
The following skills and experience are essential for you to succeed in this role:
· Previous experience as a Management Accountant.
· AAT level 4 or similar.
· Experience of preparing management accounts with insightful commentary.
· Business partnering with a wider range of individuals, including operational teams
· Accuracy, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to ask “does this look right”
· Independent working, able to anticipate and initiate your own work
· Good communication and presentation skills: both written and verbal, numbers and words!
· Ability to work with non-finance individuals
· Awareness of confidentiality and ability to handle sensitive information
· Competent user of Microsoft Office with Excel skills.
· Experience of using Sage (or similar accounting software
· Ability to use wider IT systems with a good understanding of the fundamental structure of databases and the extraction of data for reporting.
