Responsibilities:
- Greet and welcome visitors in a professional and friendly manner
- Answer and direct phone calls to the appropriate person or department - signposting patients to the most appropriate service
- Provide general administrative and clerical support - Processing documents/tasks that are sent to the practice from other services and patients
- Maintain office supplies and inventory
- Schedule appointments and manage calendars
- Perform data entry tasks using various software programs
- Maintain a clean and organised reception area
- Opening up/locking up of Practice premises security in accordance with practice protocols
- Communicating effectively within both the reception team and the wider surgery team
Experience:
- Previous experience as a receptionist or in a similar role is preferred but not required
- Familiarity with office equipment such as printers, scanners, and copiers
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritise tasks effectively under pressure
