Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Disab Vacuum Truck Operator/Driver to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating specialised vacuum trucks to perform waste removal and other related services. This role requires a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and professionalism, with the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment. The position involves manual setup & working of the flexible hose to vac up products such as solids, sludge & liquids. Recycle/disposal of waste and cleaning of the equipment.
Responding to spillages and general cleaning work, driving the Disab Vacuum Unit to and around the numerous sites we operate on.
Applicants must hold a valid driving licence suitable for operating heavy vehicles, be willing to undertake manual work and possess a keen attention to safety protocols.
Duties
- Operate disab vacuum trucks safely and efficiently to carry out waste removal tasks.
- Respond to spillages and general cleaning work in a dusty environment.
- Weekends and call outs are to be expected.
- Occasional stopping out will be required. (subsistence covered by NQIS)
- Conduct routine inspections of the vehicle and equipment prior to each shift to ensure operational safety.
- Manage the loading and unloading of waste materials, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including volume of waste collected and routes taken.
- Drive the Disab Vacuum Units between sites, adhering strictly to traffic laws and safety standards.
- Assist with vehicle maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, tyre pressure, and cleaning the truck after use.
- Follow all health and safety procedures during operations to minimise risks to self and others.
- Communicate effectively and courteously with team members and clients regarding job status and any issues encountered during operations.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with tankers or similar large lorries.
- Previous experience working in a Quarry / Extraction environment is highly desirable.
- The successful applicant would need to be reliable and enthusiastic, have a positive ‘can-do’ attitude and be able to work in a team that is not afraid of hard work.
- Familiarity with operating specialised equipment such as vacuum trucks is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided.
- A clean driving licence suitable for heavy goods vehicles (HGV) is required.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in the industrial sector, commercial vehicle operation and waste management is preferred.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £16.00-£28.90 per hour
