We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics Teachers to join our Sixth Form team.
You will teach IGCSE/GCSE, AS and A Level students, helping them achieve excellent examination results and prepare for progression to leading universities. Experience with Cambridge International, Pearson Edexcel, AQA, OCR or other UK examination boards is highly desirable.
We welcome applications from full-time, part-time and flexible subject specialists. Candidates able to teach more than one of Chemistry, Maths or Physics are particularly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach IGCSE/GCSE, AS and A Level Chemistry, Maths and/or Physics.
- Plan and deliver engaging, challenging and well-structured lessons.
- Prepare students effectively for external examinations.
- Plan, demonstrate and supervise practical laboratory work in Chemistry and/or Physics.
- Ensure students develop the practical and investigative skills required by examination specifications.
- Follow appropriate laboratory health and safety procedures, including safe use of equipment, chemicals and practical apparatus.
- Monitor progress and provide targeted academic support.
- Set and mark homework, tests, assessments and mock examinations.
- Develop students’ examination technique, problem-solving and revision skills.
- Use specifications, past papers, mark schemes and examiner reports effectively.
- Maintain high academic and professional standards.
- Communicate progress clearly with students, parents and colleagues.
Essential Requirements
- A relevant degree in Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Science or a related subject.
- PGCE, PGDE, QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching within the UK education system or a British curriculum school.
- Strong knowledge of GCSE/IGCSE and AS/A Level courses.
- A successful track record of preparing students for external examinations.
- For Chemistry and Physics teachers, strong practical laboratory teaching experience and confidence supervising experiments safely.
- Excellent subject knowledge, communication and classroom management skills.
- A professional, reliable and student-focused approach.
Experience with UCAS, university applications, academic intervention, examination board assessment, or delivering required practical and investigative work would also be an advantage.
