We take pride in our precision workmanship, technical expertise, and commitment to compliance and quality on every project — from residential developments to large-scale commercial schemes.
We’re expanding our in-house team and looking for a dedicated Estimator to join us as we continue to grow and strengthen our pre-construction capability.
The Role
As Estimator, you’ll be responsible for managing tenders from initial enquiry through to submission and handover, working closely with our directors, the other Estimators and contracts team.
You’ll play a key role in securing future projects and shaping the commercial growth of J3 Roofing & Facades.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reviewing tender enquiries, specifications, and drawings for roofing and façade packages
- Preparing detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and take-offs
- Liaising with clients, main contractors, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Managing tender deadlines and ensuring submissions are complete and compliant
- Producing value engineering options and risk assessments where required
- Supporting post-tender clarifications and handovers to the contracts team
- Maintaining accurate cost databases and supplier information
About You
We’re looking for someone who’s motivated, methodical, and passionate about the building envelope sector.
Essential:
- Proven experience estimating roofing and/or façade packages
- Strong technical understanding of materials and systems (zinc, rainscreen, SFS, flat roofing, etc.)
- Confident using estimating software and Excel-based take-off tools
- Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Bluebeam Experience
Desirable:
- Experience with Design & Build projects
- Knowledge of current Building Regulations and façade compliance standards
- Degree or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management
Pay: £40,000.00-£70,000.00 per year
