Job Overview
South London College is a UK-based education and training provider delivering accredited professional development and certification programmes to learners across the UK and internationally. We are looking for an experienced IT professional to join our freelance team as an IT Webinar Tutor. In this fully remote, flexible role, you will deliver live, interactive one-hour online webinar sessions on a range of IT topics, working from materials provided by South London College in advance. Candidates who also hold teaching, assessor and/or IQA qualifications are welcome to apply, as this opens the door to additional tutoring, assessing and quality assurance work on a flexible, as-and-when basis.
Duties
- Deliver live one-hour online webinar sessions to learners on IT topics using video conferencing platforms
- Present content clearly and engagingly, working from topic outlines, PowerPoint slides and supporting resources provided in advance
- Ensure learners are supported and that technical content is communicated clearly and accessibly throughout each session
- Manage your own time and availability to meet agreed session schedules (typically one to two sessions per month)
- For eligible candidates: tutor learners through IT-related qualifications, assess learner portfolios and assignments, and carry out Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) of assessed work
Skills
- Minimum 2 years of proven experience working in the IT sector, with strong and current subject knowledge
- Confident and engaging presenter, comfortable delivering live online sessions to a learner audience
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical content clearly and accessibly
- Reliable, self-motivated and able to work independently in a fully remote environment
- Right to work in the United Kingdom
- Desirable: teaching qualification (AET, CET, DET, PGCE or equivalent), assessor qualification (CAVA, A1, TAQA or equivalent), and/or IQA qualification (Level 4 Award/Certificate or equivalent)
- Desirable: minimum 2 years' experience in tutoring, assessing or IQA within Education and Training, and/or IT industry experience
- Desirable: active and up-to-date CPD record
