Purpose of the Role
We are looking for a proactive and commercially minded Head of Facilities to lead the effective management and future development of our premises, fleet, logistics and facilities services.
This is a key role within the business, ensuring our sites and transport operations are safe, compliant, efficient and well organised today, while also planning for the facilities and infrastructure we will need as the business grows.
You will lead future facilities expansion into new areas, developing practical and commercially sound facilities plans based on projected turnover, operational demand and business growth targets. Working closely with the senior leadership team, you will ensure our facilities strategy supports both current operations and the future direction of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day and strategic management of company premises, facilities and fleet.
- Develop and maintain a Facilities Business Plan aligned with future turnover targets and wider company growth plans.
- Lead the planning and delivery of future expansion into new geographical areas, including assessing premises, capacity, infrastructure, fleet and support requirements.
- Translate business growth forecasts into clear facilities, property and operational capacity plans.
- Identify when additional sites, yards, storage, vehicles, equipment or facilities resources will be required.
- Prepare business cases, budgets and recommendations for future facilities investment.
- Support the evaluation and mobilisation of new sites and locations.
- Ensure all existing and future sites are safe, compliant, secure and fit for purpose.
- Maintain oversight of transport and fleet compliance, including Operator Licence and DVSA requirements.
- Ensure vehicles are serviced, maintained and available to support operational requirements.
- Oversee logistics planning and support efficient deliveries and collections.
- Manage suppliers, contractors and service providers to achieve strong service and value.
- Oversee facilities and fleet budgets, expenditure and Purchase Order controls.
- Support effective stock, asset and equipment management.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce cost and strengthen processes.
- Maintain clear compliance records, reporting and management information.
- Lead and support the Facilities team, including the Logistics Administrator.
- Work collaboratively with Operations, Finance, Commercial and other departments to ensure facilities capability supports future sales and operational requirements.
About You
You will be organised, practical and commercially aware, with the confidence to take ownership of both today’s requirements and the future needs of a growing business.
You will ideally have:
- Experience in Facilities, Fleet, Transport, Estates or a similar operational management role.
- Experience planning facilities or operational capacity around business growth.
- Strong commercial awareness and confidence working with budgets, forecasts and business cases.
- Good knowledge of health and safety and facilities compliance.
- Experience managing suppliers, contractors and budgets.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to turn future business targets into practical operational plans.
- Confident communication and relationship-building skills.
- Good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Experience within construction or a similar operational environment would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of Operator Licence and DVSA requirements would be beneficial.

Pay: £62,000.00-£65,000.00 per hour
