Junior Sous Chef
Reporting to the Head Chef
We’re a busy, quality‑driven kitchen looking for a Junior Sous Chef to help lead service, develop dishes, and support the team day to day. If you’re ambitious, organised, and passionate about great food, this is a chance to grow fast in a supportive brigade.
About the role
- Lead sections and run pass support during peak services with calm, clear communication.
- Prep, cook, and plate to spec with speed, consistency, and pride.
- Contribute ideas to menu development and seasonal specials.
- Maintain top standards of hygiene, HACCP, and allergen control.
- Train and mentor CDPs/Commis; set the tone for teamwork and professionalism.
- Support ordering, stock rotation, and waste reduction targets.
What we’re looking for
- 2+ years in a high‑volume, quality kitchen (gastro pub, hotel, restaurant, or similar).
- Solid fundamentals: butchery/veg prep, sauces and plating.
- A cool head under pressure and a genuine love of hospitality.
- Understanding of GP, portioning, and cost awareness.
- Food Hygiene Level 2+ (or willingness to obtain quickly).
- Right to work in the UK and good spoken English.
