This is a 10 PA appointment for a Specialist in Medical Retina within Ophthalmology. This post will be available from September 2026.
This post will deliver 10 PAs supporting the Medical Retina team (Ms Mohla, Mr Mukherjee and Ms Downey). The post-holder will provide specialist clinical care for patients with medical retinal disorders, including the delivery of intravitreal therapies and retinal laser treatment. There will be opportunities to contribute to service development, clinical governance, teaching and training, audit, research, and the continued improvement of Medical Retina and urgent retinal care pathways.
The post will be based cross-site at St James’s University Hospital and Seacroft Hospital.
Applicants should have completed a minimum of 12 years’ medical work (continuous or in aggregate) since obtaining a primary medical/dental qualification, of which a minimum of 6 years should have been in a relevant speciality in the Specialty Doctor and/or closed SAS grades (or equivalent). You must also meet the criteria set out in the Specialist generic capabilities framework.
