Payroll Administrator / Payroll Specialist
We are looking for an experienced Payroll Professional to join our team. The successful candidate must have recent, hands-on experience using Sage 50 Payroll and previous recent experience working in a payroll bureau or accountancy practice environment.
This role is suited to someone who is highly accurate, confident managing multiple payrolls, and able to work independently without close supervision. You will be allocated your own portfolio of clients and will be responsible for delivering an end-to-end payroll service each month.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for managing payrolls for multiple employers, ensuring all payrolls are processed accurately and on time. Duties will include:
- Processing weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly payrolls using Sage 50 Payroll
- Managing payrolls across multiple employers and pension schemes
- Calculating statutory payments, deductions, holiday pay, starters and leavers
- Submitting RTI reports to HMRC
- Processing auto-enrolment pension contributions
- Liaising confidently with clients, HMRC, pension providers and The Pensions Regulator
- Managing pension scheme compliance, including communications and queries relating to workplace pensions
- Handling client queries and providing professional payroll support
- Ensuring payroll records are accurate, compliant and up to date
- Managing your own client workload and deadlines with minimal supervision
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Recent, hands-on experience using Sage 50 Payroll
- Previous recent experience working in a payroll bureau environment
- Experience managing payrolls for multiple employers
- Experience working across multiple pension schemes
- Strong knowledge of auto-enrolment, pension schemes and workplace pension compliance
- Experience dealing directly with HMRC and The Pensions Regulator
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
- The ability to work independently and manage deadlines without close supervision
- Strong communication skills, with confidence liaising with clients, HMRC, pension providers and regulatory bodies
- A professional and organised approach to client service
