Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Handyman/woman to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving various aspects of residential and commercial properties. This role requires a proactive individual with a broad skill set in general maintenance, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work. The ideal applicant will be organised, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently to ensure properties are safe, functional, and well-maintained.
Duties
- Conduct routine inspections of properties to identify maintenance needs or repairs
- Perform general repairs including carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and painting
- Install fixtures, appliances, or fittings as required
- Troubleshoot issues and provide effective solutions promptly
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working order
- Assist with renovation projects and property upgrades
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations
- Keep accurate records of work completed and materials used
- Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Handyman/woman or in a similar maintenance role
- Broad knowledge of repair techniques across various trades (carpentry, plumbing, electrical)
- Ability to read technical manuals and diagrams
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Valid driver’s licence is preferred for transportation between sites
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual tasks
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in trades are advantageous but not essential
