Our client is a high-growth, internationally commercial medical technology business developing regulated products that improve diagnosis in serious disease areas, including cancer. The business is seeking a hands-on Finance Director to strengthen the finance function, improve controls and reporting, and provide clear commercial insight to the Chief Executive and leadership team.
Responsibilities
- Lead financial reporting, management accounts, board packs, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and working capital
- Strengthen controls across costs, margins, revenue quality, VAT, payroll oversight and finance operations
- Develop dashboards and KPI reporting that improve visibility of business performance
- Partner with leadership, commercial and operational teams to provide clear analysis, challenge and recommendations
- Support fundraising and strategic finance activity, including modelling, due diligence and investor-facing analysis
- Manage R&D tax credit reporting and improve the structure, discipline and capability of the finance team
Profile
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified accountant with at least five years’ post-qualification experience
- Experience improving a finance function in a high-growth, founder-led, start-up or scale-up environment
- Strong board reporting, budgeting, forecasting, modelling and senior stakeholder presentation skills
- Commercially astute, hands-on and confident challenging assumptions across the business
- Experience in product-based, healthcare, manufacturing, digital health, biotech, medtech or manufacturing businesses would be beneficial
- Fundraising, investor reporting, international operations, stock control and R&D tax experience would be advantageous
