The Role
We are recruiting an experienced Water Hygiene Engineer to carry out water hygiene monitoring, inspection, and maintenance works across a nationwide client base.
This role requires regular stay-away work (typically up to 2 nights per week). Please only apply if you are comfortable with this requirement.
You will work independently, managing your own workload while delivering services in line with current legislation and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out water hygiene monitoring and maintenance in line with ACoP L8 and HSG274
- Temperature monitoring of hot and cold water outlets
- TMV inspection and servicing
- Cold Water Storage Tank (CWST) inspections
- Hot Water Storage Vessel (HWSV) checks
- Showerhead cleaning and disinfection
- Water sample collection
- Cleaning and disinfection (C&D) of water systems
- Complete all works using a tablet-based electronic logbook system
- Communicate professionally with clients on site
- Report to the Operations Managers
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience in a Water Hygiene Engineer role
- Good working knowledge of:
- ACoP L8
- HSG274
- Water Supply (Water Fittings) Regulations
- Experience carrying out cleaning and disinfection of water systems
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and manage daily workloads
- Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away up to 2 nights per week
Desirable
- TMV servicing experience
- Broader hot and cold water system knowledge
- Additional water hygiene training or certifications
