Job Description – Café Team Member (Indian Café)Job Summary
We are looking for a friendly, energetic, and hardworking Café Team Member to join our vibrant Indian café. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing excellent customer service while preparing high-quality food and beverages, including Indian chai, freshly made rolls, pizzas, coffees, milkshakes, and other café favourites. You will play an important role in creating a welcoming atmosphere and ensuring every customer enjoys a great dining experience.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of hot and cold beverages, including Indian chai, speciality coffees, milkshakes, smoothies, teas, and other café drinks, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Prepare and cook fresh food items such as Indian rolls, pizzas, wraps, and other menu items according to café recipes and food safety standards.
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently while providing friendly and attentive service.
- Handle cash and card transactions and operate the till system accurately.
- Ensure all food preparation areas, coffee stations, equipment, and utensils are kept clean, organised, and hygienic.
- Restock ingredients, beverages, packaging, and other supplies to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Maintain high standards of food presentation, quality, and portion control.
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen and front-of-house team during busy periods to ensure timely service.
- Follow all food hygiene, health, and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning, stock checks, and equipment preparation.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a café, coffee shop, restaurant, or fast-food environment is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
- Experience preparing coffee
- Having experience with chai, rolls, pizzas, or other café food is an advantage.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and work as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
- Basic numeracy skills for handling payments accurately.
- Knowledge of food hygiene practices is desirable.
- Hygiene certification mandatory - we can work on it if you don't have yet.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
