The Role
Are you ready to make a real difference in people’s lives while building a rewarding career? At Raven Housing Trust, we’re passionate about creating safe, healthy homes for our residents—and we’re looking for someone who shares that commitment.
Due to the continued growth of our housing portfolio, we’re expanding our Property & Estate Services team and are looking for two experienced Electrical Testers to join us at this exciting time of development.
This is more than a job—it’s an opportunity to be part of a team that values innovation, collaboration, and customer focus. At Raven, we empower our people to lead with purpose. You’ll join an organisation that values belonging, ownership, and collaboration—where your voice matters and your impact is felt across our communities. We’re proud of our inclusive, supportive culture and our commitment to professional development.
What you’ll be doing
In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering a high-quality, customer-focused electrical service across Raven’s housing stock, including electrical inspections, installations, and maintenance to current legislative standards, whilst contributing to Raven’s wider multi-skilled trades team. You will:
- Complete Electrical Installation Condition Reports (EICRs) in void properties to confirm electrical safety prior to re-letting.
- Carry out CCU (Consumer Unit) replacements and remedial works to bring properties up to full compliance with current wiring regulations.
- Provide certification and compliance documentation for all electrical work to support audit readiness and legal compliance.
- Support fast turnaround of void properties by completing all required electrical tasks to an agreed timescale, enabling prompt re-letting.
- Maintain van stock levels in line with job needs and usage trends to reduce non-productive time and increase repair completion rates.
- Complete all job data on-site in real time using hand-held IT systems, enabling live job tracking, accurate cost control, and improved performance reporting.
What you’ll bring
We’re looking for someone with:
- City & Guilds Level 3 in electrical installation or equivalent.
- City & Guilds 2357, 2391/2394/2395 (Inspection & Testing), and 18th Edition (2382) qualifications.
- Experience in residential electrical maintenance and repairs.
- A strong understanding of health and safety, including working in tenanted homes.
- Full UK driving license.
- PAT Testing experience.
- Previous voids experience including EICRs and CCU upgrades.
- Experience in a multi-skilled role or minor general building repairs.
Why join Raven?
At Raven, we’re more than just a housing association — we’re a community‑focused organisation committed to creating positive change. You’ll be joining a supportive, forward‑thinking team where your ideas and expertise will genuinely make a difference.
You will also share our values: earning trust by being open and accountable, listening with an open mind, working collaboratively, and caring about making things better.
