Key Duties and Responsibilities
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing while delivering high-quality, person-centred care. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing compassionate, person-centred support tailored to each individual's needs, preferences, and care plans.
- Assisting with personal care, including washing, dressing, bathing, toileting, grooming, and maintaining personal hygiene.
- Supporting individuals with the safe administration of medication in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Encouraging and promoting independence by assisting individuals to develop daily living skills and make informed choices.
- Supporting service users with meal preparation, nutrition, hydration, shopping, and other household tasks.
- Assisting individuals to access the local community, attend appointments, participate in social and recreational activities, and maintain meaningful relationships.
- Providing emotional support, reassurance, and encouragement to enhance confidence, wellbeing, and quality of life.
- Maintaining accurate, timely, and confidential records, including daily care notes, incident reports, and medication documentation.
- Safeguarding vulnerable adults by recognising, reporting, and responding appropriately to any safeguarding concerns in line with legislation and organisational policies.
- Following all Health & Safety, Infection Prevention and Control, Manual Handling, and PPE procedures to ensure a safe environment for service users and colleagues.
- Supporting individuals who may display behaviours of concern by implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies and following behaviour support plans where applicable.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, families, healthcare professionals, and other agencies to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained.
- Respecting the dignity, privacy, equality, diversity, and human rights of all individuals at all times.
- Reporting any changes in a service user's physical, emotional, or mental wellbeing promptly to the appropriate person.
- Participating in mandatory training, supervision, and continuous professional development to maintain and enhance professional competence.
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties consistent with the role of a Support Worker as required by the service.

Pay: £12.71-£15.00 per hour
