As we continue to grow, we are looking for a semi-skilled operative to join our skilled team and contribute to the refurbishment of our hire fleet.
Role Overview:
As a Semi-Skilled Operative, you will play a key role in the production and refurbishment of our portable and modular buildings. Working as part of a skilled and growing team, you will assist in the conversion, refurbishment, fit-out, and finishing of modular units to the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. The expectations of the role is to work both on and off site undertaking the same duties at customers sites when required.

Key Responsibilities:
- Install and fit out internal finishes, including partitions, trims, flooring, ceilings, wall linings, painting, and configuring interior layouts.
- Carry out joinery tasks including studwork, lining out, partition walls, fitting doors, windows, skirting, and architraves.
- Carry out basic plumbing tasks including sink and toilet installation, waste and drainage systems, copper pipework, and push-fit plumbing systems.
- Read and interpret basic drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Assist with loading, unloading, and moving materials and equipment as required.
- Report defects, shortages, and any production issues to supervisors promptly.
- Carry out cleaning of both refurbished and newly completed units.
- Support other trades and departments when required to meet production schedules.
- Meet daily and weekly production targets while maintaining high-quality workmanship.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant Health & Safety policies, procedures, and legislation.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment at all times.
Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience in a similar role or within a production/manufacturing environment is desirable, but not essential.
- Basic understanding of mechanical or construction principles.
- Practical experience using hand and power tools.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
- Health & Safety awareness and commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
- Commitment to travel to sites
- CSCS card
- Full security BPSS checks maybe required for site work
Physical Requirements
This role is physically active and will involve:
- Manual handling and lifting of materials and equipment.
- Standing, bending, kneeling, and working on your feet for extended periods.
- Working both indoors and outdoors when required.
