Main purpose of the role:
Responsible for making sure that plant and machinery have high levels of availability / uptime and operates in a safe manner at all times across the Stanlow plants (Pre-treatment Plant & Biodiesel Refinery) and the Argent Oil Terminal.
The role operates Mon to Fri, 8am to 4pm. An on‑call rota is in place, paid at £305 per week, with additional payment for call‑out hours on-site. The rota typically operates on a 1‑in‑5 basis, equating to approximately £3k per annum on top of base salary. Overtime is available, and the maintenance team supports 3x planned shutdowns per year for each UK site, during which key maintenance and major works are carried out within defined time windows with extended hours/weekends for the team to execute.
What you will be doing:

Support and deputise for the EI team leader in the development and execution of maintenance plans.

Ensure both preventative and corrective maintenance is carried out in a timely manner and complies with both Argent policies / standards and external standards e.g. EA, HSE, EEMUA.

Act as technical support on maintenance issues.

Take a lead role in the planning and execution of shutdowns across all plants.

Maintain and update the CMMS and provide robust feedback for maintenance works.

Actively support the development of colleagues and apprentices.
Your key relationships will be:

Working closely with the EI team leader to ensure that maintenance activities are carried out safely and in a timely manner.

Liaising with the maintenance planning team to effectively plan works where required.

Ensuring that thorough feedback is given to all stakeholders including, operators, production leads and plant managers.
Skills and behaviours you will need to be successful:

Experience of leading teams within maintenance/shutdowns

Experienced knowledge of Maintenance Engineering standards

Good working knowledge of process control instrumentation, temp, pressure, flow, level, weight etc.

Qualifications and experience required:

5 - 10 years of EI maintenance experience within the Oil/Gas/Chemical Industry.

Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship

IOSH/NEBOSH – Workplace Safety

HNC/HND in an engineering discipline
