We are seeking a trainee administrator to join our hard working, small and friendly insolvency & turnaround team based in Newbury town centre. We operate in the professional services sector alongside lawyers and accountants and in this role you will have the opportunity to develop many office-based skills and technical knowledge specific our sector.
This is a varied and interesting administrative role in which the right candidate will develop excellent administrative and technical skills, which will provide a strong foundation upon which to build your future. We will vest time in your development which will enable you to learn and grow the role. The limit of your development will be dictated by your commitment and ability.
Long Description
The initial key tasks in this role will include:
o Reception duties, answering the telephone, helping callers and greeting visitors.
o Creating and maintaining client databases.
o All areas of post room duties, including opening and sending post.
o Creating letters and documents using in house standards.
o File management.
o Administering and updating the firms time and disbursement accounts.
o Client related administrative duties.
o Day to day in house administrative duties.
o Gaining industry technical knowledge used in your day-to-day role.
Developing role
o Creating original letters and documents.
o Report drafting/writing.
o Meeting and dealing directly with clients, their staff and our contacts.
o Engaging and instructing solicitors, accountants, surveyors and agents.
o Liaising with key contracts to progress client work.
o Assisting our practice administrator and investigator.
o Dealing with client HR matters.
o Assignment of your own portfolio of clients.
Working week 37.5 hours per week - over 5 days – Monday to Friday starting between 8.30 to 9.30am(flexi hours)
Future Prospects
Your development will be dictated by your ability and commitment. We will consider supporting a business administration apprenticeship, if sought. We would hope that your development will enable you to move on to the greater technical role of a client executive, with a longer-term view to sitting professional insolvency courses and qualifications which will enable you to build a long-term career in the sector.

We are a boutique insolvency and turnaround specialist with a high level of sector expertise who focus primarily on corporate clients and conduct a small amount of bespoke personal insolvency solutions. Our clients are small to medium sized businesses and individuals with financial difficulties and in need specialist services prescribed by UK insolvency legislation. Our services are tailored to meet the clients’ requirements.
Dependent upon the demands of our clients, no two consecutive days tend to be the same and this can make for an interesting week in the office.
Our director is a licenced and practicing insolvency practitioner with over 35 years in the industry and is looking to train a new generation in this industry. We are a small, friendly team of 5-6 staff and are based in Newbury town centre.

Qualifications Required

Training
Training to be Provided - On-the-job training will be provided to meet the requirements of the technical requirements of the role. We will consider an apprentice if the candidate desires this route.
Interview Process
The interview will include a number of short tests to establish your basic skills. These may include:
o Typing test (speed and accuracy)
o Arithmetic test
o Handwriting assessment
o Computer knowledge
o Comprehension test
