Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bench Joiner to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting, assembling, and finishing bespoke wooden windows and doors in our workshop. This role requires a strong understanding of carpentry, joinery, and fabrication techniques, with the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team. Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble bespoke wooden components using hand tools, power tools, and specialised joinery techniques.
- Interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to produce accurate pieces.
- Operate various woodworking machinery safely and effectively, including saws, drills, sanders, and lathes.
- Finish surfaces by sanding, polishing, or applying protective coatings to meet quality standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised workshop environment to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Collaborate with project managers and other tradespeople to ensure timely completion of projects.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet design specifications and standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in fabrication, assembly, or carpentry within a workshop or construction setting.
- Strong proficiency with hand tools such as chisels, saws, planes, and measuring devices.
- Experience operating power tools including drills, routers, sanders, and jointers.
- Knowledge of joinery techniques such as dovetailing, mortise-and-tenon joints, and biscuit joining
- Ability to undertake heavy lifting safely and work on projects requiring physical strength.
