Operations Assistant – Henry's Sports Bar

About the Role
Henry's Sports Bar is looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and proactive Operations Assistant to join our management team. This is a hands-on role that requires someone with previous hospitality and management experience who is passionate about delivering excellent customer service while ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the venue.
Working closely with the Operations Director and Managing Director, you will play a key role in supporting all aspects of the business, from stock management and staff leadership to event planning and venue development.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain stock control, including regular stock takes and ordering supplies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, ensuring timely deliveries and competitive pricing.
- Prepare and manage staff rotas to ensure efficient staffing levels.
- Supervise, support, and motivate the bar team, maintaining high standards of service.
- Lead by example by working behind the bar and ensuring smooth daily operations.
- Ensure the venue is clean, organised, compliant, and operating efficiently at all times.
- Assist in the recruitment, training, and development of staff.
- Work closely with the management team to identify opportunities to improve operations and customer experience.
- Generate creative ideas for marketing campaigns, promotions, and special events.
- Research and book live entertainment, including singers, bands, DJs, and other performers.
- Liaise with artists, agents, and event suppliers to organise successful entertainment nights.
- Help develop new concepts and initiatives to increase footfall and customer engagement.
- Assist with general administrative and operational duties as required.

- Previous experience in hospitality, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Experience with stock control and ordering.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- Confident communicator with strong customer service skills.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and busy event periods.
- A proactive approach with the ability to solve problems independently.
