As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will be instrumental in supporting the development and progress of children in our KS1 or KS2 settings. Your role is vital in ensuring continuity of learning and maintaining a stimulating environment for all pupils you work with.
Key Responsibilities:
Take responsibility for whole class cover in Primary settings, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning continues seamlessly in the absence of the class teacher.
Provide emergency cover at short notice, adapting quickly to support children and maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
Help children build strong foundations in early reading and numeracy.
Develop and enhance designated areas of learning within the Primary environment, contributing to a rich and engaging curriculum.
What we are looking for:
A genuine passion for Primary education, with a strong desire to inspire and support young learners.
Experience in leading whole class activities, ideally within nursery or Reception settings.
Proven ability to work effectively as part of a team, fostering positive relationships with colleagues and pupils.
Experience supporting children with additional needs, demonstrating empathy and adaptability.
Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and respond flexibly to changing situations.
Sound knowledge of early reading, phonics, and maths, enabling you to deliver targeted group sessions.
Confidence in following teachers’ planning and providing emergency cover at short notice.
Outstanding interpersonal skills, allowing you to communicate effectively with both children and adults.
