Pennine Paving is a busy, family-run paving and stone supplier. We’re looking for a hardworking and reliable Yard Operative to join our friendly team.
Responsibilities
- Picking and preparing customer orders accurately
- Loading and unloading customers’ vehicles and deliveries
- Moving, stacking and organising paving and stone
- Helping customers safely load their vehicles
- Checking stock and reporting damaged products
- Keeping the yard clean, tidy and safe
- Assisting with stock checks
- Carrying out general yard duties
- Following all health and safety procedures
What we’re looking for
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling
- Happy to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Friendly and helpful when dealing with customers
- Previous yard, warehouse, builders’ merchant or landscaping experience is desirable but not essential
- A valid forklift licence is highly desirable
- A full UK driving licence is highly desirable
This is a physical, hands-on position involving heavy materials, so a positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in are essential.
