The Trust grade posts is divided between Child and Family Team (0-13 years) and Adolescent Team (14-17 years) of Hammersmith and Fulham CAMHS. West London CAMHS service line offers a service to children and young people across the London Boroughs of Ealing, Hounslow and
Hammersmith and Fulham. CAMHS provides community (Tier 2) and specialist (Tier 3) services. The specialist services also include the Neurodevelopmental and Learning Disabilities (NDLD)
Team. There are specific pathways for young people with psychosis established in collaboration between the community Adolescent Team and the Early Intervention Service for Psychosis. There
is also a cross-borough CAMHS crisis service (Alliance Team) undertaking assessments in A&E, paediatric wards and the community, a cross-borough CAMHS Eating Disorders Service and a cross-borough DBT service. An Out of Hours service is available within the Trust CAMHS Service Line, and provides support and advice for children and young people who are in a crisis and present to the local A+E in an emergency (after 4pm and on weekends). There is a cross-borough
CAMHS out of hours provision based at West Middlesex Hospital.
The post-holder will contribute to service delivery in the Hammersmith and Fulham Team, which offers assessment for children and young people aged 0–18 years with a broad range of emotional, behavioural and mental health difficulties.
The post contributes to the specialist CAMHS Duty Rota, providing experience in managing referrals and urgent responses, with the opportunity to follow up cases with ongoing clinical need.
Liaison with other services — including the Crisis Team, Eating Disorder Team, Early Intervention in Psychosis, DBT Team, Community Paediatrics, Child Development Team, Social Care teams, schools, and the voluntary sector — is a valuable aspect of the role. In addition, the post-holder may be asked to contribute to activities supporting demand across the wider service.
