We’re looking for a brilliant Optical Assistant to join our team, and you don’t need optical experience to apply.
You might already be an experienced Optical Assistant looking for something new.
Or you might work in retail, hospitality, healthcare, customer service or a completely different industry and fancy a career change.
If you’re great with people, we can teach you the rest.
The Role
As an Optical Assistant, you’ll be one of the first people our patients meet and an important part of their experience with us.
It’s a varied role combining customer service, fashion, healthcare and retail, so no two days are exactly the same.
With full training and support, your role will include:
- Welcoming and looking after patients
- Helping patients choose the perfect frames
- Advising on different lens options
- Taking measurements and supporting spectacle fittings
- Adjusting and maintaining glasses
- Booking and managing appointments
- Supporting our Optometrists and wider team
- Processing orders and payments
- Keeping the practice looking its best
- Building great relationships with our patients
If you’re completely new to optics, we’ll train you from the beginning and help you develop your knowledge and confidence.

Who Are We Looking For?
Experience in optics is great – but it isn't essential.
We’re much more interested in finding someone with the right personality and attitude.
You could already be an Optical Assistant, or you could currently work in retail, fashion, hospitality, healthcare or customer service.
