We are seeking a skilled and reliable Painter & Decorator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for applying paint, varnishes, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring high-quality workmanship and a professional appearance. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a keen eye for detail and a passion for transforming spaces through colour and decoration. Applicants should possess good communication skills and be capable of working independently or as part of a team. A valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate travel between sites.
Responsibilities
- Preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, filling, and masking to ensure optimal paint adhesion
- Applying paints, varnishes, stains, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment
- Ensuring all work meets safety standards and adheres to client specifications
- Managing time effectively to complete projects within designated deadlines
- Maintaining a clean and organised work environment throughout the project duration
- Communicating with clients and team members to discuss project requirements and progress
- Assisting with colour selection and providing advice on decorating options when required
Requirements
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good command of English language, both spoken and written
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members
- Valid driving licence is advantageous for site travel purposes
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to painting and decorating tasks
- Attention to detail with a commitment to delivering high-quality finishes
