We are looking for an experienced and reliable Damp & Mould Operative to join our growing team delivering essential remedial works across social housing properties in Tower Hamlets.
This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary of £35,000–£38,000 per year (depending on experience), with the opportunity to increase your earnings through optional weekend overtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out damp and mould treatment works in occupied and void social housing properties.
- Diagnose the causes of damp and mould and undertake appropriate remedial works.
- Prepare affected areas, remove mould safely, apply specialist treatments, and redecorate where required.
- Complete associated repairs, including plaster patching, making good, sealing, and minor carpentry where necessary.
- Identify and report any underlying issues requiring further investigation or specialist attention.
- Deliver excellent customer service while working in tenants' homes, ensuring minimal disruption.
- Complete job documentation accurately and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
Essential Requirements
- Proven experience carrying out damp and mould remedial works.
- Experience working within social housing, responsive repairs, or property maintenance.
- Good knowledge of damp treatment methods and building maintenance.
- Ability to carry out associated repairs, including plastering and decorating.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
Desirable Qualifications
- CSCS Card.
- Asbestos Awareness.
- Manual Handling.
- Working at Height.
- DBS Check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Health & Safety qualifications relevant to property maintenance.
