Following a long tradition of excellence and a commitment to quality, we are now seeking a dedicated and experienced Retail Manager to lead our independent wine shop in Topsham as we continue to grow and uphold our established reputation.
Role Overview
This is a unique opportunity for an individual with a strong background in the wine trade who is enthusiastic about working in a customer-centered, hands-on retail environment. As Retail Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our shop, ensuring the highest standards of customer service and retail presentation, and driving sales performance.
Main Responsibilities
· Supervising daily shop operations and managing the staff team
· Offering expert advice and personalised recommendations to customers
· Handling stock management and merchandising to create attractive displays
· Organising tastings, special events, and seasonal promotions to enhance customer engagement
· Meeting sales targets and maintaining consistently high standards of service
· Ensuring full compliance with licensing regulations, health and safety requirements, and company policies
Candidate Profile
· Minimum of 2–3 years’ experience in the wine trade or premium retail management
· Strong wine knowledge, ideally holding WSET Level 2 certification (or higher)
· Demonstrated success in driving sales and leading a small team
· Excellent communication abilities and a commitment to outstanding customer service
· Proactive, organised, and approachable leadership style
