The University of Chester is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Football Women’s Club Coach to join our Sport and Active Lifestyle team.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the student sporting experience by delivering high-quality coaching sessions, supporting player development, and fostering an inclusive and enjoyable environment for members of our women’s football club. Working closely with student leaders and the Sport Development Team, you will play a key role in helping our athletes achieve their potential both on and off the pitch.
About the Role
As Football Women’s Club Coach, you will:
Lead and deliver structured, engaging football coaching sessions for club members of all abilities.
Develop and implement coaching programmes that support player improvement and participation.
Work collaboratively with club captains and committee members to enhance the club experience.
Maintain regular communication with the Sport Development Team.
Act professionally and uphold the sportCHESTER Coaches’ Code of Conduct.
Support a positive, inclusive and welcoming club environment.
Complete a DBS check and University safeguarding training prior to commencement.
The coaching contract runs across two periods: October to December and January to May , covering 21 weeks in total . [
About You
You'll be passionate about developing players, creating positive sporting experiences and supporting young adults to succeed.
Essential Requirements
Introduction to Football / FA Level 1 Coaching Qualification (minimum).
Safeguarding and Protecting Children in Sport Certificate.
Experience working with young adults.
Strong knowledge of football coaching and player development.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent motivational and leadership skills.
Ability to plan, develop and deliver effective coaching sessions.
Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Desirable Requirements
First Aid qualification.
Experience playing or competing in football at club level or above.
