Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Fish and Chip Shop Team Member specialising in preparation and service to join our friendly team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about food, cooking, and delivering exceptional customer service. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, cooking, and maintaining high standards of food safety within a busy retail environment. Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant setting is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Responsibilities
- Prepare fresh Fish, Chips, Burgers, and other menu items according to company standards and recipes
- Assist with cooking and frying food items efficiently and safely
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations
- Serve customers in a friendly and professional manner at the counter
- Handle payments accurately and process orders promptly
- Ensure all food is stored correctly and rotation procedures are followed to minimise waste
- Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth operation of the shop
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times to maintain a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Experience in food preparation, cooking, or a related culinary role is advantageous but not mandatory as training will be provided
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Previous experience working in a restaurant or takeaway environment is desirable but not essential
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude towards customers and colleagues
- Ability to work flexibly during peak hours, including weekends if required
- A genuine interest in food service and customer satisfaction
