About the role
Link3 Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming and supportive mainstream secondary school in the NG19 area.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping young people overcome barriers to learning. You will work closely with the pastoral, inclusion and SEN teams, supporting students with behavioural, social and emotional needs both in and out of the classroom.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small group behaviour support for students.
- Build positive relationships that encourage engagement and confidence.
- Support pupils in managing behaviour and remaining focused in lessons.
- Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to implement behaviour strategies.
- Help de-escalate challenging situations using positive behaviour management techniques.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate behaviour records.
- Promote an inclusive, safe and supportive learning environment.
Requirements
- At least 1 year of experience working with children or young people with behavioural or SEMH needs.
- Experience within a mainstream secondary, SEN or similar educational setting is desirable.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and child protection.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is preferred.

This position is based in Mansfield (NG19) within a well-established mainstream secondary school, easily accessible from Mansfield, Sutton-in-Ashfield and the surrounding Nottinghamshire areas.
