THE ROLE
We have an exciting opportunity for an AAT Trainee to join our Outsourced FD team. This role is ideal for a school or college leaver looking to begin a career in accountancy while studying towards a nationally recognised AAT qualification.
As an AAT Trainee, you will receive structured training and support while gaining practical experience working with a wide range of clients from day one. You will work alongside experienced colleagues in a friendly and supportive environment, developing both your technical knowledge and professional skills as you progress through your studies.
The key responsibilities of the role are:
- Assisting with bookkeeping for a variety of clients using cloud accounting software.
- Assisting with the preparation and submission of VAT returns.
- Learning to prepare year-end accounts under the guidance of senior team members.
- Supporting colleagues with a range of accounting and finance assignments.
- Maintaining accurate records and ensuring work is completed to a high standard.
- Learning to use accounting technology and AI-enabled tools to improve efficiency and enhance client service.
- Developing knowledge of accounting principles whilst studying towards your AAT qualification.
ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED
The key attributes that we will look for are:
- A minimum of 5 GCSEs, including Grade 7 (or equivalent) in Maths and Grade 6 (or equivalent) in English.
- Ideally A Levels (or equivalent) completed or due to be completed.
- A genuine interest in developing a career in accountancy and finance.
- Enthusiasm for technology and an interest in how automation and AI can improve the way finance teams work.
- Keen to learn and committed to studying towards the AAT qualification.
- Strong numeracy skills and good attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Well organised with the ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
- A positive attitude with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Computer literate, with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.

Pay: £25,000.00 per year
