LMA is a family-run, growing aerosol manufacturer based in Pocklington, East Yorkshire. We specialise in private label products, developing and manufacturing on behalf of brand owners, and work hands-on with solvents, oils, paints and a wide range of chemicals and processes. We work closely with our customers across many products at the same time, so no two days are the same.
About the role
This is a great opportunity for someone at the start of their career, or looking to move into industrial chemistry, to join our Technical Team. Working under the Technical Lead and alongside experienced colleagues, you’ll get hands-on with both quality control and product development — learning the science behind our products as you go. Full training is provided, so what matters most is a genuine interest in chemistry and a willingness to learn.
What you’ll be doing
- Carry out quality control checks and testing on raw materials and finished products against specifications.
- Record and report your results accurately and clearly.
- Assist the technical team with product development, R&D and trials.
- Prepare samples and support laboratory experiments and testing.
- Help maintain accurate records, product specifications and a well-organised, safe laboratory.
- Support senior colleagues with projects and day-to-day technical tasks.
What you’ll need
- A genuine interest in chemistry and a real willingness to learn.
- A relevant science qualification (for example A-levels, or a degree in chemistry or a related subject) and/or some laboratory experience.
- Good attention to detail and accuracy.
- A methodical, practical, hands-on approach.
- Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Reliability, a good work rate and the ability to work well as part of a team.
