Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated SEN Tutor to provide specialised educational support to students with special educational needs. The successful candidate will work closely with pupils to enhance their learning experience, foster confidence, and develop essential skills. Responsibilities
- Deliver personalised tutoring sessions tailored to each student’s individual learning plan and requirements
- Develop engaging lesson plans that accommodate various learning styles and abilities
- Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and relevant staff
- Adapt teaching methods to meet the specific needs of children with special educational needs
- Foster a positive, supportive learning environment that encourages confidence and independence
- Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and parents to ensure cohesive support strategies
- Maintain organised records of lesson plans, progress reports, and attendance
- Support students in developing social skills and behavioural strategies as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, preferably with children or young people with special educational needs
- Knowledge of special education practices and inclusive teaching strategies
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and development
- Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet individual student needs
- Relevant qualifications in education or special education are desirable but not essential
- Commitment to maintaining a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment
Work Schedule
Mon - Fri AM/PM (Opportunities for weekends)
Pay: £9.00-£22.00 per hour
