Overview
SGK Distribution is seeking a committed and reliable Warehouse Worker to join our dynamic team. This role is vital in ensuring the seamless operation of our warehouse by handling and managing stock efficiently. The ideal candidate will exhibit strong attention to detail, the physical ability to perform heavy lifting, and a dedication to maintaining high standards of quality and organisation.
Duties
- Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload goods from lorries and containers, adhering to proper handling practices.
- Stock Organisation: Arrange and maintain inventory in designated locations within the warehouse.
- Quality Control: Conduct inspections of incoming and outgoing products to ensure they meet company standards.
- Equipment Operation: Safely and efficiently operate forklifts and other warehouse machinery.
- Shipping and Receiving: Assist with processes such as preparing items for dispatch and receiving incoming goods.
- Inventory Management: Utilise the Warehouse Management System (WMS) to monitor inventory levels and manage stock movements.
- Material Handling: Perform tasks such as packing, sorting, and labelling products as needed.
- Warehouse Maintenance: Keep the warehouse environment clean, organised, and free of hazards.
Qualifications
- Experience: Prior warehouse experience is preferred but not mandatory.
- Forklift Operation: Proficiency in operating forklifts; certification is an advantage.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to consistently lift up to 25 kg during the shift.
- Mechanical Knowledge: Basic understanding of equipment maintenance is a plus.
- Process Familiarity: Knowledge of shipping and receiving operations is beneficial.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on quality control and accuracy.
- Organisational Skills: Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive Mindset: A problem-solving attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
