Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our educational team. The successful candidate will work closely with children, including those with special educational needs, to provide tailored support that promotes their learning and development. Duties
- Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons tailored to individual student needs
- Provide one-on-one support to children with autism, disabilities, or behavioural challenges
- Support children with special educational needs, including those requiring toddler care or additional assistance
- Foster a positive and nurturing learning environment that encourages participation and confidence
- Implement personalised learning strategies under the guidance of teaching staff
- Monitor and record student progress, behaviour, and development to inform future planning
- Support children during classroom activities, breaks, and specialised programmes
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure consistent support
Skills
- Experience working with individuals with autism or disabilities is highly desirable
- Strong teaching skills with the ability to adapt approaches to meet diverse learning needs
- Previous experience working with children in educational or care settings, including toddler care
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, colleagues, and parents
- Organised and patient approach to supporting children's individual development plans
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment
- Passionate about special education and committed to fostering inclusive learning environments
