About the Role
We are looking for a Refrigeration Engineer to join our team. This is a predominantly night-shift role, providing planned and reactive refrigeration engineering support to ensure equipment and systems remain safe, reliable and operational.
The successful candidate will have a strong practical approach, good fault-finding skills and the ability to work independently. Full training will be provided for the specific equipment, systems and working procedures required for the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on refrigeration and associated equipment.
- Diagnose and repair refrigeration faults and breakdowns.
- Carry out inspections, testing and servicing of refrigeration systems.
- Respond to reactive maintenance requirements during night shifts.
- Identify faults and minimise equipment downtime.
- Complete maintenance records, reports and relevant documentation.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures.
- Follow relevant health & safety, environmental and compliance requirements.
- Work independently while maintaining effective communication with the wider engineering team.
- Undertake additional training as required for company-specific equipment and systems.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Previous experience as a Refrigeration Engineer or in a similar engineering role.
- Good practical refrigeration and fault-finding skills.
- An understanding of refrigeration systems, components and controls.
- The ability to work independently, particularly during night shifts.
- A strong commitment to health and safety.
- Good communication and problem-solving skills.
- A flexible and reliable approach to working hours.
- A willingness to learn and undertake training on specific equipment and processes.
Relevant refrigeration qualifications and F-Gas certification are desirable/expected where applicable, although we are happy to consider candidates with strong relevant experience.
