Area Manager – Support Services
Location: East Midlands, with regular regional travel
Salary: Starting from £40,000 per year, depending on experience

About the Role
Fosse Support Services provides high-quality, person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, autism, mental health needs and complex support needs.
We are looking for an experienced and motivated Area Manager to lead a portfolio of Supported Living and community-based services across the East Midlands.
Working closely with Registered Managers and senior leadership, you will take responsibility for operational performance, quality, compliance, people and financial performance, ensuring services are safe, effective, well-led and consistently CQC-ready.
You will also play an important role in developing our management teams, strengthening relationships with commissioners and supporting the continued growth of our services.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strong operational leadership across services within your region.
- Lead, coach and develop Registered Managers and service leadership teams.
- Maintain high standards of CQC compliance, quality and governance.
- Monitor safeguarding, incidents, complaints, health and safety and risk management.
- Drive continuous improvement through audits, service visits and action plans.
- Manage regional budgets and ensure services operate efficiently within agreed targets.
- Monitor performance and take action to improve quality, staffing and service delivery.
- Support recruitment, retention, workforce planning and succession planning.
- Lead or oversee significant investigations, safeguarding concerns and serious incidents.
- Develop strong relationships with commissioners, local authorities and healthcare professionals.
- Identify opportunities for growth and support the mobilisation of new services.
- Promote a positive culture of accountability, person-centred practice and continuous improvement.
About You
You will be a confident and experienced operational leader with a strong track record of managing multiple health and social care services and developing successful teams.
You will have:
- Senior management experience within Supported Living, Domiciliary Care, Residential Care or a similar setting.
- Experience managing multiple services and management teams.
- Strong knowledge of CQC requirements, safeguarding, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- Experience managing budgets and service performance.
- Strong leadership, communication and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to identify risks and drive service improvement.
- A full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel throughout the East Midlands.
A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or equivalent, would be advantageous.
