A high level of shopfitting knowledge will be required for this role along with an eagerness to learn, achieve and grow as an individual and as part of a team.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Site Management (some of the accountabilities)
- A strong work ethic, happy to do manual labour once management jobs are taken care of
- Working with the Project Manager to produce, monitor and maintain the detailed construction programmes
- Ensuring high-quality standards are set with the Project team at the outset and maintained throughout
- Monitor progress against these programmes for formal reporting at regular client progress meetings
- Read and understand architects/designers drawings and issued documentation
- Review site set-up. Make sure client / client’s neighbours are happy
- Manage sub-contractors and daywork labour on a daily basis
- Ensure work is carried out to the drawings and specification given
- Ensure materials/plant have been ordered and any specialist materials have been ordered and specified correctly
- Keep in regular contact with building control and contract administrator
- Keep client / management updated with progress on site, RFIs, valuations, request for payment
- Ensure terms of the contract are adhered to
- Manage any variations promptly and get variations costed and agreed without delay. Make any resulting amendments to programme
- Where required, assist the Project Manager & QS with subcontractor selection and procurement
- Health & Safety compliance on site e.g. site risk assessment and hazard management, completing weekly H&S audits, accident, and incident recording, reporting, investigation and compliance with the environmental standards
- Resolve problems arising onsite, to client and management satisfaction and anticipate potential problems/risks
- Discuss design and finish details with the client, ensure quality, snagging
- Have good computer skills
- Keep daily notes, photos and records and issue to client / management using our basic phone app software
Qualifications & experience
Hold current SMSTS or SSSTS and First Aid (3-day)
Strong communication skills with good interpersonal and influencing skills
Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages (MS Word, Excel), dropbox and Google suite
Full UK driving license and own vehicle preferred but not essential
Working hours, locations & salary
We 10 or 12 hour shifts dependent on the site, Monday to Friday minimum, with evenings and weekend work being optional when times are especially busy.
You will be expected to travel in and around London where most of our projects are located, but on rare occasions we do work further afield and supply accommodation for our team whilst at these projects.
You will be paid via a CIS payroll company and your salary will be £27 per hour to start.. The successful candidate has the opportunity to be well rewarded, both in terms of remuneration and flexibility as a result of achieving excellence in the position. You could also benefit from additional training and upskilling in this fantastic role.
